Outpouring Hearts and Minds Through Literacy and English Proficiency

All  of us are familiar with this so called English language right? But not all of us are good in this. I, myself is not good in speaking english also but I'm trying my best to go with it.
English is our universal language.English is widely used all over the world. Children about two-years old and above were able tot\ speak in english already. Imagine that?
Many Filipinos are excelling in different countries in the world because of this so called English language. English language has become a part of our lives. Through this, all people all over the world were able to understand each other.
Students are also practicing in using the universal language. Students are using this to be able to excel. In our current generation, being able to speak fluently in english is hardly idolized. The way they pronounced the words, the way they pronounced it with accent, the way they add styles in pronouncing it. It was just amazing and so pleasant to hear.
To those people who are not good in speaking English like me, have faith, have confidence. Do not afraid of commiting mistakes. You will learn fron your mistakes. And I also have things to recommend in becoming a good English speaker. You MUST  read and read and read english stories, novels, etc. You must also use the english language when talking to someone to practice it.
We all know that we are not perfect. Nobody is perfect. We are all commiting mistakes. But practicing English language makes it perfect.

SECOND GRADING(A REFLECTION)

Time flies really fast . During the first quarter, it is true that all of our past lessons were hard. And on our second quarter, I can say that it was harder though.
During the second quarter, I've learned so many things just like in the first quarter. I realized that it was not that easy tho. Especially on our math subject and all of the math-related subjects that we have. I am currently doing my best to understand math but I can't. I really can't and don't understand no matter how much effort I've inserted. In our ICT subject, I learned also on how to format texts, how to put a background color, background image in HTML tags, etc. In Filipino, we have learned the characters and happenings in every short stories we've tackled. There were so many morals I have learned in every stories we've discussed.

“I never DREAMED about success, I WORKED for it." as a saying goes. Those lessons we’ve tackled was not that easy .Eventhough I'm not that really good in academics, I am really trying my best to pass all the requirements. I , myself don't dare to give up. If others can, why can't I? I know that I can face and solve the problems or struggles that comes to my life. This character trait will lead me to my success. Moving on, I’ll  make my past a basis for me to grow and to develop in the future.

INTRAMURALS 2014

Intramurals 2014 was held at our school, Ilocos Sur National High School on September 18-20. Before the intramurals 2014, you can see that all of the players are busy---busy developing their skills in their certain sports. Basketball, taekwondo, table tennis, track and field, volleyball, etc... these are some of the sports that students participated.
During the intrams, many students were watching in different sports. They enjoyed watching especially in basketball (girls). They seemed so funny playing basketball. I, myself don't really enjoy the intrams because it was raining and I was lazy to walk from there to there. Before the
intrams was cancelled (because of the super
typhoon Mario), the taekwondo game was
already done. And I was also one of the players of this said sport. And I didn't expect that I was the one who brought home the bacon. But in general, I'm so happy though. I've enjoyed a little bit. It's our last year in high school so we must enjoy and let's make the most of it.

"MY TEACHER, MY HERO"

"MY TEACHER, MY HERO"

A teacher gives education to students. They teach students and help them develop the skills they have. They have been always there to help us in our difficulties. They're treating us as their own children. With them, we learned a lot of things. They taught us how to be a good leader. They are such an awesome teacher because other give importance to us. They make us feel loves as their own children. They will always be a part of our lives.

I just want to share this experience of mine. When I, myself quitted already in taekwondo, a teacher came to me and said, "Are you sure you're going to quit? Oh come'on, you can do it." And I was like, (I just smiled at him) and said, "I don't know if I'm still going to continue this sir, but we'll see." Then that night, I realized that my teacher was right. I can do it. If otherscan, why can't I? Right? A teacher like him gives me inspiration in life. After my game last September, I was like "Oh my God, is it true?" I was the one who brought home the bacon. I was not expecting that. That teacher was right. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Happy Teachers Day to all Teachers !

Immunation: "Arming Science Clubbers with Healthful Defenses Toward National Wellness"

Science, technology and innovation played a major role in building great nations, spreading global modernization and shaping the world where we live.
One of the activities for September is the celebration of the National Science Club Month. This is mandated in Proclamation No. 264 which was signed by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in 2002.The theme of the Science Month Celebration in the year 2014 is Immunation: Arming Science Clubbers with Healthful Defenses Toward National Wellness.” The aim of the week-long festival is to promote the relevance of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) to our everyday lives and to demonstrate their importance to the future development of Irish society and to the economy. It is a play on words on ammunition and immunization. They would like also science clubbers to be armed/to be immune against diseases through imparting knowledge about disease, how they spread, etc. The goal is not only the science clubbers that benefit from this knowledge but also their school and communities and thus leading to national wellness. Immunization is the best of human effort to prevent diseases. So many diseases could prevented by the immunization, but not every high mortality diseases had their immunization as the choice of prevention.
Health is wealth. We have to take good care of our health. Let us all be Science Clubbers!

MODERN HEROES

Parents Clip Art
                  MODERN HEROES

Superman, Wonderwoman, Batman.. Maybe some of us would say, "A true hero must know how to fly, a hero must be strong,  a hero must have superpowers." It is obvious that some of us don't know the true meaning of a hero. Everyone of us can be a hero in our own simple ways. Without any superpowers. You can be a hero eventhough you can't fly.
For me, a true hero is responsible. A true hero knows to sacrifice his or her time in order to help other people. A true hero ---are my parents. You know what? Because since I was a kid, they were the one who fed me.. they were the one who bought my needs.. they were the one who heals my wounds.. they were the one who taught me on how to become a good girl.. and they were the one who supported .. currently supporting me in my studies and decisions. I can see their big sacrifices for me. It's hard to be far away from your love ones, right? Parent's are an awesome individual by themselves! Dad's that work hard to provide for their families. Mother's who stay at home sacrifice their sanity, health and emotions. Parent's have a tough job. A rewarding career. Blessing from the Lord. Being a parent is not something to be taken lightly.
Yes! For their children, they do appreciate those stuff but does it mean more? Their parents tried to cope up those years of being away from them just to give them better than what they had before. I believe a parental responsibility is a duty of every parent. However, they should think carefully until what point they are going to sacrifice themselves.

BUWAN NG WIKA

                       "Ating Tangkilikin Ang Sariling Atin"

Ilocano , Espanyol Ingles at iba pa. Lahat tayo may kanya-kanyang wika.

IT WILL ALL BE WORTH IT AT THE END (REFLECTION)

Being a high school student is really challenging. It was not easy to become a high school student. I am now a senior student. And during the past 3 years of my schooling, it was  never easy . You’ll be having millions of sweat and sacrifices upon entering the secondary level.

During the first quarter, I've learned so many things. I have learned so many good character traits in Values and at the same time in English. I’m referring to the story we’ve tackled. But I have some misunderstanding with the Math, Physics, and Chemistry. They are all connected in math. Me and Math subject didn’t like each other though. I really don’t know why math doesn’t like me. Hmm, I also learned new things in Music, Arts, PE, Health and CAT 1. In our ICT subject, I learned also on how to create, edit, post, etc. in my own blog. In Filipino, we have learned the characters and happenings in the novel entitled “El Filibusterismo” by Dr. Jose Rizal-our National Hero in the Phillippines.

“There is no elevator to success. You must take the stairs" as a saying goes. Those lessons we’ve tackled was not that easy . You just need the capital P-A-T-I-E-N-C-E. Yes. Be patient and never give up. This character trait will lead you to your success. There was also a time that I want to give up but God is so good. He never left. He is always here by my side to guide and support me. And also my family and friends as my inspiration. They are the reasons why I’m not giving up in life. Moving on, I’ll  make my past a basis for me to grow and to develop in the future.

SONA 2014 (A REACTION)

President Benigno Aquino III delivered his fifth State Of the Nation Address (SONA) at the Batangas Complex in Quezon City and discussed matters regarding the country's economy, education and so much more.

All of the funds, according to the president, went to the places they are
supposed to go. This SONA is the president's fifth, the second to the last,
and we are expecting him to discuss more about what is happening now---
impeachment complaints of DAP, territorial disputes, pork barrel scam,
energy problems and more.

He kept on talking all the improvement of our country. But me, as a
student, didn't see all the improvements. Yeah maybe there are some
improvement but we Filipinos know that some provinces or places here in
the Philippines has no improvement. We are just depending on ourselves.

He also said that our economy is currently improving. Why did he say so?
Some victims of typhoon said that they didn't get any Relief goods or help from
the government. Some farmers were disappointed also. Millions of coconuts
were destroyed because of this so called cocolisap. The government didn't
work for it immediately.

KALAMIDAD PAGHANDAAN
GUTOM AT MALNUTRISYON AGAPAN

Having a good health is very important. We can do more  work when you're a healthy person, of course you know that right? This is by having or eating healthy foods that gives nutrients, vitamins, etc. to our body.

Nutrition month. What comes to your mind when you hear this?

Every month of July, we are celebrating this so called Nutrition Month Celebration. The theme of these is "Kalamidad Paghandaan,Gutom at Malnutrisyon Agapan." It gets more exciting because of the different activities of the TLE Department. TLE department is the one who is facilitating in the said activies. There are also competitions about jingle composition , cooking (cookfest), poster making contest, etc. This is one of my favorite monthe because of this cool activities. This activities we're able to help students like us to develope or improve our skills or talents we have.

So we must take good care of ourselves.Remember, health is wealth. Stop eating unhealthy foods or junk food. This kind of food were not able to give us energy but it will lessen the energy that our body have.

        Dear Mr. President,

It's been almost half a year when super typhoon Yolanda strikes that area. Many houses , schools ,companies , buildings were destroyed. The people there now has no permanent houses yet. The people there used tents as their temporary home. As you see , there's also a limited food , water and electric current. They need help especially your help.
